Porcelain Story
We recently visited the Kyiv Opera. As it was customary to say before, Giuseppe Verdi's "Aida" was given. We went with our youngest daughter, she had long wanted to see Aida. The fact is that she and her mother come up with different thematic performances for every birthday. Either they staged scenes from the life of the Indians of North America, or they prepared some kind of children's performance dedicated to the heroes of a popular cartoon... But most of all, our Anechka, and her friends, probably remembered the action taking place (as it were!) in ancient Egypt. And then just "Aida" with its vivid plot, reflecting the events of the period of the reign of the Egyptian pharaohs!..
First impressions of the performance were excellent. Still - such a scope, such costumes, such music, such voices... Sometimes there were up to one and a half hundred performers on the stage at the same time - members of the choir, dancers, performers of the main roles and musicians! The Japanese sitting in front of us did not hide their delight. And, believe me, there was something to admire. After all, in addition to the beautiful voices that can arouse the delight of the public, they could not help but admire the beauty of many singers and especially participants in ballet scenes.
Going to "Aida", we, of course, did not expect to see the production in the form in which it was originally conceived and embodied in Egypt by Giuseppe Verdi. For huge money for those times, in Cairo in 1871 he showed a performance in which horse-drawn chariots, then reservoirs with boats sailing through them appeared on the stage... No, we did not at all think to see the same variety of staged miracles on our opera stage. But all the same, the performance at the Kyiv Opera was wonderful.
Our Anya, always busy with extra classes (music, choir, English and German, swimming, dancing, etc.), until recently, persistently asked us to find time for her to study ballet. It was her old dream. And she flatly refused to listen to our arguments about the difficulty of mastering this difficult art. Before this trip to Aida...
The porcelain composition presented today to your attention may well be classified as real miracles. And not only because of its very large size. This is one of the favorite works of our mother Galina. After all, it conveys so many wonderful feelings, so many manifestations of the character of the heroines... as I want to watch and watch.
