Porcelain Story
What an interesting piece! Look how many expressive characters are here, how much unfeigned sincerity, how much dynamics in the famously twisted plot... The circus has arrived! You know, we have a lot of works dedicated to the theme of the circus in our collection. There are compositions much more massive and larger than this one. And it (for a moment) is already 72 centimeters long. And yet, it is with this work that I would like to introduce you now. And that's why. Recently we were with our daughter at a circus performance. In a well-equipped tent circus, located in the center of Kyiv on Troitskaya Square. I liked a lot - both cleanliness and order, and a surprisingly well-heated hall - despite the fact that it was already noticeably colder outside. And most importantly - an unexpectedly high level of skill of performers - aerial acrobats, tightrope walkers, clowns ...
The real shock was the performance of stuntmen from distant Colombia. They arranged crazy races on 8 motorcycles in a small diameter ball. I remember that in Soviet times, in our state Kyiv circus, the same action was performed by three or four motorcyclists. But the ball was several times larger and for some reason the number was called "deadly". A truly deadly number is shown just in the circus tent on Troitskaya Square. Eight motorcyclists rush in a small enclosed space at such great speed that at some point their silhouettes merge into one continuous blur, spewing a deafening roar and evoking a feeling of ... no, not admiration, but horror among suspicious spectators. The admiration came later, after all the motorcyclists left the ball unharmed. And at that moment I wanted only one thing - that all these experiences for them would end quickly ...
I liked the circus. It had everything that is customary to attract the attention of a discerning and sophisticated viewer. And yet, something important and familiar was clearly missing. What? Animals and beasts. Yes, I know, I know that many circuses are slowly phasing out the use of animals in their performances. And in some countries it is already completely prohibited. They say that the rights of animals are not violated without their consent. Maybe all these prohibitions are right. Maybe we should fight for animal rights. It's just somehow unusual to see a circus program without lions and tigers, crocodiles and boas, dogs, bears and other familiar circus animals.
That is why the current wonderful composition is like a picture from the past, when circus monkeys and elephants were taken to the circus arena. And it was commonplace. And the children just squealed with happiness. And adults just wanted to cry, seeing the joy of their happy children.
