Porcelain Story
Time... An inexorable factor in our life, sometimes directly opposite influencing everything that happens to us in different periods of earthly existence. Time is like a bicycle without brakes. In early youth, after all, brakes are not needed at all. Why are they at all, if you have a rapid (as everyone would like) ascent, when the goals sometimes change more often than the direction indicators to them. And time drags on so slowly, so viscous and clumsy that you don’t even know how to adjust it, because you just don’t have enough patience to wait for the next one on the way to overcome it - a stream, a rocky ridge, an old tree felled by a hurricane wind, finally, yourself, your laziness and periodically creeping uncertainty that you are able to pass the next test. And when you once again reach the next relatively flat platform, where you can make a short halt, take a break, gain strength, comprehend what has been achieved and outline plans for the future, this inexorable time without brakes drives you further, as if in the neck, not allowing you to stop there. And you again tirelessly pedal your striving for the next goal, not wanting to recognize the peak you have already reached as the most important in your life, the maximum possible. Or even completely impossible, not even imagined in previous dreams.
Nobel laureate Shimon Peres, speaking a few years before his death in Kyiv, said that the scale of a person is determined by the scale of the goals that he sets for himself. Regardless of the age of the person and his position in society. That is why many of us, subconsciously realizing this or acting at some moments completely unconsciously, strive, each time reaching the next peak, to look around, wondering in our minds: why not try to make at least one more leap upwards, to a new top? And each of us seems to be postponing for "a little later", for later, for "not today" this coming descent after the top has been reached. Impetuous and relentless. Without stops. After all, time is a bicycle without brakes, and this is especially palpable when descending. When it flies faster than the wind, faster than the speed of light, faster than the flight of thought. And not only that it is impossible to stop, but even to suspend it. This is the time of our life flowing through the fingers of history...
Just don't regret anything that can't be fixed. It is only important to have time to fix what is still fixable. It is only necessary not to forget to thank those closest to you, fate and the Lord for everything that you have experienced...
There are many porcelain watches in our collection. Different - large and small, table and fireplace, Spanish and German. But it was this work that for some reason "punched" me to talk about the eternal. I hope I didn't bore you too much.
