I really want to please you with a real porcelain miracle ... enjoy it, please. And I rejoice with you. We have a lot of absolutely fantastic works in our collection, the contemplation of which can take your breath away. But even among them, today's "Winged Beauty" stands apart. We had the good fortune to watch how the author of this work, Francisco Polope, is working on the creation of one of the copies of a unique series. He then came to Kyiv to demonstrate a kind of master class for a small circle of owners of large collections of Spanish porcelain.

It would seem nothing special. The sculptor makes fragments by hand of what is, at first, even impossible to imagine. We have observed a similar process more than once in various workshops of the most famous porcelain manufactories in Europe. But Francisco is a special master. And he has a special talent. And he has a fantasy, incomprehensible to the ideas of ordinary people. It is no coincidence that today he is one of the most famous porcelain makers in Europe.

Watching his work, it sometimes seemed that even with his eyes closed he could create these marvelous feathers of the hands-wings of an unearthly beauty of a girl who folded them obediently in front of her. And wavy hair, as if fluttering under a light breeze of the spring wind... And the ideal curves of a perfect female body... And the concentrated face of a large beautiful bird, as if preparing to flap its wings in a few moments - and rapidly fly up into the heavenly distance and dissolve in its blueness forever and ever...

A little later, in the evening of the same day, at our house, we had a long talk with the Master about his work. But they could not understand how this good-natured, slightly overweight and very modest person manages to create such surprisingly romantic images. By the way, often alternating with images of Japanese samurai or large Chinese dragons. With such talent, obviously, you need to be born. You can only acquire professional skills and knowledge of technology. Moreover, during the 40 years of Francisco's work at Lladro, these technologies, developing, have changed dozens of times. And only by developing together with them, it was possible to achieve such a level of perfection. He always succeeded.
