In front of you is a stunningly beautiful work of the outstanding Spanish sculptor Francisco Polope. Our collection contains dozens of works created by the hands of this wonderful master over 40 years of cooperation with the famous Lladro porcelain manufactory.

This "Carnival Fantasy", which collectors call briefly and understandably "Mask", is absolutely unlike anything that Francisco created in previous years. A supporter of both classical plots, and classical techniques, and materials used in the creation of porcelain works, in this work he showed himself to be a modern, rapidly developing specialist, constantly comprehending the latest technological methods in porcelain production. And at the same time - the ease of performing the most complex compositions so inherent in him, the finest detail in the creation of flowers and the decoration of the carnival mask, the ability to convey (with cold porcelain material) the warmth and grace of female features! ..

When Francisco, during his arrival in Kyiv, visited us and unexpectedly saw a huge number of masterpieces created by his own hands, he looked around like a child, bewildered, not knowing how to express his feelings. And then he took each of his works in his hands and wrote something for us in Spanish right on it ...

Carnival porcelain mask seems incredible to me. How many different masks - real, rare, painted with picturesque oil paints - I brought back from trips to Venice, but they are all different. Yes, beautiful. Yes, original. But none of them is able to cause such delight from the author's craftsmanship as this porcelain miracle. I think if real Venetians saw this mask, they would envy us.
