Porcelain Story
It is sometimes difficult for me to understand the logic of the managers of the largest porcelain manufactories. Sometimes they release a completely (in my opinion!) inexpressive, rustic, unremarkable work in a circulation of 50 or 100 copies, forcing half-crazy collectors to chase in search of it at all auctions only because a small-circulation product can be resold at exorbitant prices after some time. And sometimes amazing, incredible (yes, sometimes one wants to say - unearthly) beauty work appears in mass circulation and becomes available to anyone who is not even a connoisseur of porcelain art ...
However, this happens only at the first moment. And then everything falls into place - and not even a limited, but obviously unique product immediately disappears from view, settling in private collections inaccessible to ordinary lovers of beauty. This happened with these translucent (for some reason not limited) masks. Translucency, by the way, as the masters told me, is achieved by laying Chinese silk into the porcelain mass, which safely burns out during firing, leaving thin holes - in porcelain umbrellas, for example, or in frills of women's dresses, or in these completely unique masks. The mask presented to your eyes was brought to me by friends from Kyiv, who found it absolutely by chance in one of the old Swiss shops. Now we have a whole series of them.
