Porcelain history
It has become more and more difficult to find interesting porcelain works in Kiev. Less and less often at the weekly meetings of collectors you can see something worthwhile. Or at least just interesting. More and more often we have to remember the previous years, when at the so-called "meetings", which are held in Kiev on every last Saturday of the month, you could see so much that sometimes the eyes ran wild ...
By the way, I should note that such a trend has recently been observed not only in our country. Being periodically in European capitals and trying to visit places that were formerly a real ''Klondike'' for collectors of porcelain, I notice how noticeably and there crushed the flow of interesting products. Now, I'll tell you, to find an interesting thing on the antique markets in Vienna, London, Paris, Barcelona or Munich happens very rarely. And go to the bohemian antique salons, where exhibited works, the cost of which is increased in tens of times, - the fate of thick-skinned, rarely thinking about the real price of rarity. Such buyers are accustomed to make purchases, especially without thinking about either the price or the value. Like it -- bought it. If they don't like it, they sell it. Or gave it away. What does it matter, if neither the soul to the work has not had time to get hooked, nor the long fascinating process of searching, finding, bargaining and the following after all this rapturous enjoyment of the hard-won beauty, as a rule, they are almost unfamiliar. Unlike, say, collectors, who are truly in love with the objects of their adoration and are not going to give away the hard-found item later, let alone sell it "at a profit".
This amazingly delicate and fragile composition, created by old French masters, I bought a few months ago in Kiev. From my, as I call them, Spanish friends of Ukrainian origin. I really like this statuette, which has taken the place it was meant for in the editor's office at work. I like to see how it is admired by my colleagues and guests of the editorial office, who visit this office, which has long since turned into a branch of our future museum.
"I have just one question for you in connection with all this. -- One of my Facebook followers wrote to me recently. -- "Where do you keep all this beauty?" I answered: "I don't keep the works in my collection. I enjoy contemplating them myself, sharing this pleasure with colleagues and friends..."
