Porcelain Story

Our collection contains a huge number of, pardon the expression, heads. It happened. Although, of course, we did not collect them on purpose. But just now, having decided to present this rather interesting work to your attention, I suddenly noticed that there were really a lot of goals. And what heads!.. Women's, children's, clown's, noblemen's... With and without flowers. In the form of teapots, huge mugs and flower vases. But you never know what else!

We have human and horse heads. There are dog and cat heads. Various colors and finishes. Made in all porcelain techniques known to me. Sad and laughing. Glossy and matte (biscuit)... There are three female heads created by Valencian masters with an interval of 10-15 years. By the technique of their creation, one can easily trace the development of the latest technologies for the use of various materials in the process of creating modern porcelain products.

But even in this variety of porcelain heads, the current head stands apart. First, because this work is a pair. As planned by the authors, the “New Year's head” and the “autumn head” of the same size should stand side by side, symbolizing the different seasons, which in one way or another affects their decoration. And further. You can’t even imagine how much effort it took me to find the second head from this pair. And only because my wife really liked it, who once saw it live, but, unfortunately, then it was not for sale.

I have already noted more than once that there would be a desire, and luck will always smile at the collector. Luck smiled once again on us. And ten years later, the “autumn head”, bought in Spain, and the “New Year's head”, accidentally discovered in Belgium, finally met in our collection. To the delight of my wife and to my satisfaction.
