Porcelain Story

Among the regular readers of "porcelain stories" are my old friends living in Slovenia. Periodically examining the vivid photographs of their current life in this beautiful and very cozy country, which they put up, I have more than once tried to tell about our trips to this land of lakes and mountains. Moreover, in different years I had to visit Maribor, and Ljubljana, and Kranska Gora. And from pleasant memories of this, the soul is always filled with warm feelings.

And just the other day I met with our publishing partner, a well-known volunteer, with whom we have been publishing Facts-Donbass for several years for soldiers of the Ukrainian army, internally displaced persons and residents of areas adjacent to the ATO zone. Oleg, a former successful athlete, spoke about his participation in the recent World Championships in rowing among veterans, in which the Ukrainian team took second place, losing a few hundredths of a second to the winners. So, the most interesting thing is that the competitions were held on the fabulously beautiful Lake Bled in Slovenia.

Perhaps the most memorable picture in my memories from our trips with children to this country  is Lake Bled with an amazing island in the middle of a flat water surface, on which an old church has been preserved. And on the same day we visited another lake. It is located ... underground, in huge caves, in which during the Second World War the prisoners worked on the conveyor, manually assembling aircraft engines for the planes of Nazi Germany. And on the underground lake we were transported in boats, very similar to the one that is presented to your attention today. Yet, those boats were not as decorated with flowers as this one.

By the way, I found this boat in Maribor later, during one of the football trips. And I could not refuse the desire to buy it, because it was painfully similar to the boats of that underground lake that we once visited with our children. So this composition took its place in our collection next to other works dedicated to flower girls.
