Porcelain Story
A girl was being treated in a small rural hospital. The doctor for a long time could not determine the cause of the appearance of a barely noticeable rash on the child's body. Neither medication nor diet helped. But one day, when he went to the girl’s house, the doctor determined that the cause of the strange rash was an allergy to copper.
How did you guess, teacher? asked his astonished student.
“Copper dishes are the only thing that distinguished the girl’s household items from the hospital ones,” said the doctor. "The doctor must have the eye of a falcon..."
When, after some time, an outbreak of a contagious disease occurred in a neighboring village, the doctor rushed there with medicines and stayed to care for the sick, since everyone was afraid to even approach them.
"Weren't you afraid of getting infected?" asked his student.
“The doctor must be fearless and have the heart of a lion,” said the doctor.
Once a woodcutter was brought to him, having injured his leg, into which, due to the fall of the tree, a lot of small chips stuck. Having carefully treated and sewn up the wounds, the doctor promised the patient that “everything will heal before the wedding” and heard in response:
- You have hands like my mother...
“A doctor must have the hands of a woman,” said the doctor, smiling.
“Master, I still don’t understand who a doctor should be,” the student asked in confusion. "A falcon, a lion, or a woman?"
“A doctor must have the eye of a falcon, the heart of a lion, and the hands of a woman,” said the doctor.
There are many excellent doctors among my friends. Some of them are marked in the list of donors hanging at the entrance to our museum. Joining the many words of gratitude that are often addressed to the representatives of this difficult, but extremely important profession for all of us, I want to wish them health and good luck, well-being and God's blessing.
