Porcelain Story

In one city, in a recreation park with carousels and swings, with music, with colorful balloons, and, as usual, with ice cream, a new attraction has appeared - the Magic Wheel of Happiness. The queue for the attraction lined up from the very morning and did not disappear until the evening. Only the bell, announcing the closure of the park, forced people to disperse. To collect them here again tomorrow.

People stood excited, loudly trying to find out what will happen there, on this magic wheel of happiness. But no one knew the exact answer. There were no those in the queue who had already managed to ride the wheel.

“Oh, probably, happiness is so great that it lasts for a long time, if people who once visited here do not come here anymore,” thought those waiting. And the line moved very slowly. Tickets for the attraction were sold by a gray-haired old man. He always looked serious and silent. To questions like “Well, how is it, on the wheel of happiness?” The old man usually answered:

- To each his own…

And this even more kindled curiosity and a desire to get on the attraction as soon as possible.

Different people stood in line: children, adults, men and women. Each of them wanted to quickly get their portion of happiness. And for this they were ready to pay any money for the mere opportunity to ride on the wheel. And the old man, wise over the years and deep life experience, silently tore off the tickets and quietly thought: “Strange people after all. They stand in line for happiness brought from nowhere, not even realizing that it should be looked for not in an amusement park, but in their own souls, enjoying every day they live and thanking fate and the Lord for this. What about a wheel? The wheel is the wheel. Every ascent is bound to be followed by a descent. And whoever has been at the top, as a rule, is unbearably afraid to go down. After all, no one knows what awaits him there. And if you have learned to create your own happiness, then you can be sure that you will be able to do it tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and on any other day of your life.

That is why there were no those in the queue who had already ridden the wheel of happiness. And that's why the old man himself never even tried to ride on this unusual wheel...
