Porcelain Story

This outstanding (in many ways) piece of porcelain art is one of the gems of our collection. In "Porcelain Stories" I have already shown you old porcelain cars and old porcelain carriages. But this work is a carriage of all carriages. And in scale (113 centimeters long!). And in terms of the number of characters in the plot - in addition to the driver driving the four horses, and the two pages who settled down behind, the noble couple who went on a trip was conveniently located in the carriage itself.

In my notes, presenting other products, I mentioned several times our visit to the Schönbrunn palace complex in the capital of Austria. The museum of carriages located there seems to me the best in the world. Although in different countries in museum expositions one can often find well-preserved carriages that once belonged to royalty, but I have not seen such a carefully selected carriage ''abundance'' anywhere else. Not in London, not in Paris, not in Madrid, not in New York, not in Tokyo. The Vienna Carriage Museum exhibits the best examples of carriage art of past centuries, it is not clear how they were preserved in literally perfect condition.

Of course, there are carriages on which the legendary Sisi, Elisabeth of Austria, an amazingly beautiful woman who was born in Hungary and became empress in Austria, made her solemn departures. There is also her wedding carriage, and the carriage for the departure of the imperial couple. There are images of all her favorite horses, which, by the greatest permission, were immortalized in paintings by court painters. There are also gilded wooden carriages with unique carvings that cause involuntary delight among visitors.

So. I have been talking about carriages from the Vienna Museum for so long in order to tell you - this porcelain carriage recreates the smallest historical details and the decoration of the carriage, and the clothes of the characters in this story, and even the clothes of beautiful groomed horses. There is practically not a single detail, ''just like that'' invented by the sculptor. Here Her Majesty's absolute certainty triumphs. Now you can see for yourself.
