Porcelain Story
Some porcelain lovers are passionate about the theme of horses and inhabitants of the deep sea, while others prefer birds and flowers. Now I decided to tell a story about flowers. And this is not a story, in principle, at all, but just an interesting episode. We once flew with the whole family on an excursion to Singapore. Far and beautiful Singapore... It impressed us with many things. And by no means only in everyday life, very understandable and memorable. As, for example, huge fines for spitting out chewing gum on the asphalt (here, of course, the London sidewalk, always spotted from the traces of millions of chewing gums, is always remembered in the first place). Or for not flushing the toilet in a public toilet. For such things, the perpetrators face a fine of $500!.. True, many tourists, knowing this, do not even try to test the patience of the police on themselves.
During numerous excursions, we also remember stories about the rapid flourishing of the once absolutely impoverished and God-forgotten country, and visits to fantastic architectural structures (including hotels, bridges and new business centers), which for Eastern Europeans look like pictures from the cosmic future of the planet Mars. And at the same time, the amazing coexistence of all this super-modern infrastructure of the metropolis with wildlife and fauna, protected by the most incredible efforts of the Singaporeans themselves, could not help but be remembered.
It’s even hard for us to believe it ourselves now, but waking up in the morning in a hotel located not so far from one of the world’s largest transshipment sea cargo ports, we saw a large family of peacocks walking across the lawn, and screeching across the balconies of a multi-storey hotel many monkeys, tearing tourists' swimming equipment from the ropes and throwing them among themselves ...
But a special impression on me, for example, was made by a visit to the Botanical Garden, which has a large collection of orchids. In Kyiv, we live in Pechersk, near the Botanical Garden, whose collection of orchids (about 600-700 species) has traditionally always been considered one of the largest in Europe. Do you know how many types of orchids are collected in Singapore? 25 thousand! I especially remember the dancing lady orchids, not just called that, but really representing myriads of little dancing women!..
Our porcelain collection contains dozens of floral arrangements that recreate the most amazing plants. But I consider the work presented to your attention one of the best. If you look closely at it, you will surely understand why. It is stunningly beautiful in every detail.
