Porcelain Story

We met one of the most famous designers in the world, Jaime Hayon, at the presentation of his new porcelain collection "Fantasy" in 2008. The presentation took place at the PinchukArt Center in Kyiv. Moreover, only after Kyiv, Hayon took his new series of completely non-Lladro porcelain works to London, then to Madrid, then to New York.

Jaime Hayon started designing men's shoes, furniture and interiors. Actually, thanks to this, he, who was born in Spain in a Jewish family, then moved to London, created his own studio and quickly became famous at first, and soon even a famous designer. Orders were literally pouring in on him, which he barely managed to fulfill either in Western Europe, or in North America, or in Japan.

In recent years, Jaime has even had to establish branches of his design studios in many countries. And on the wave of such unthinkable popularity, he was invited to cooperate with the Spanish porcelain manufactory Lladro, who proposed to create a series of innovative works not quite characteristic of their style. Which was done with Hayon's characteristic brilliance. Many of the pieces in this unusual series were acquired by Madonna and Tom Cruise, for example.

Almost all of the most notable compositions from this series, created by Jaime Hayon and his collaborators, are in our collection. Moreover, a well-known designer signed and painted a number of products with his recognizable design script especially for me and my wife.

I also want to note that once, while walking with children around London, on Regens Street, we suddenly saw multi-colored men's shoes in the window of one of the shops. “Well, just like Jaime Hayon in the Fantasia porcelain series,” we said almost simultaneously. And we weren’t mistaken. the design of several halls in the famous Dutch Museum of Groningen was also commissioned by the hero of our story.We will have the opportunity to present to your attention other works by Jaime Hayon's studio. But I consider today's work one of the most interesting and striking.
