Porcelain Story
During a visit to Windsor Castle, the centuries-old residence of the English kings, for some reason, the meticulous guide told us the story of the life and death of the infamous King of England and the ruler of Ireland, Henry VIII. By the way, this king became famous not only for his protracted wars against France and religious reorganizations in his native country, but also for his numerous love affairs. He had six official wives alone. Moreover, three of them were named Catherine, two were Annas and another was called Jane.
The unbearable nature of the wayward king was exacerbated by a leg injury he received as a result of an unsuccessful fall from a horse. This physical illness affected the life of the entire kingdom. Having learned that it was impossible to cure it, the king spent the last years of his life in an indomitable rage, venting evil on his subjects and thus destroying, according to the most conservative estimates of historians, about 72 thousand Englishmen. At the same time, not really bothering to search for at least the slightest of their guilt in something.
Henry VIII died at the age of 55 at Buckingham Palace in London (where, by the way, the Queen of Great Britain, Elizabeth II, lives now), and he was buried just in his country residence - Windsor Castle. The moment of mental and physical suffering is successfully captured on a rather rare porcelain work presented to your attention.
