Porcelain Story
Tahitian... Do you recognize the motives behind the incomparable paintings by Paul Gauguin? However, the uniqueness of this work lies elsewhere. In the world of porcelain art, there were many works that surpassed this product in height. And at the German manufactory Meissen, and at the Imperial factory in St. Petersburg, and at Dutch, Belgian, Norwegian factories in different periods they created higher compositions. Only now they were prefabricated, composite, consisting of different fragments, created and fired each separately. Well, vases (for example, Dutch ones), of course, are taller than this figure. By the way, tall vases from distant China and from Ukrainian Korosten, close to us, are also represented in our collection.
But! According to experts, it is this extremely rare, although, at first glance, not very bright "Tahitian Woman" that is one of the highest solid (!) porcelain pieces in the world.
