Porcelain Story

When, during a visit to the Lladro Museum in Manhattan in New York, our children told the guide (by the way, she turned out to be our former countrywoman who moved to America from Western Ukraine) that they were not very interested, she did not hide her bewilderment. How come, beautiful and very rare examples of Spanish porcelain, traditionally of great interest to American visitors, suddenly turned out to be so little attractive to children from her native Ukraine. Apparently, she decided that the little people of Kiev were simply poorly educated.

And even more in this she was confirmed by a childish statement: yes, we, they say, have already seen all this many times ... "Where?" - the countrywoman asked incredulously. "Well ... at home," the children answered honestly, not even suspecting that their words would finally undermine faith in their upbringing.

But they told the truth. Almost all the exhibits of the Lladro Museum in New York, which over the years of its existence have been visited by hundreds of thousands of American porcelain lovers (and I have already said that in literally every state large associations of Lladro collectors have been actively working there for a long time), by that time already have been successfully assembled in our family collection. Well, maybe there haven't been a few yet. And including  this very rare work. Then I was lucky to find it too - at one of the American online auctions.
